Who we are

Footnote Health ("we", "us") publishes this website athttps://www.footnotehealth.com. For privacy questions, write toprivacy@footnotehealth.com. [Insert the legal entity name and registered address of the publisher.]

What we collect

  • Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe, we collect the email address you give us, together with the date of subscription and whether the subscription was confirmed. This is processed by our email provider. [Name the provider once connected.]
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we hold that correspondence so we can reply and keep a record of corrections.
  • Basic technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. [Name the host once chosen.]
  • Analytics. [If you add analytics, describe it here — the tool, whether it uses cookies, and whether data is aggregated. If you use a cookieless, aggregate-only tool, say so. If you use none, delete this item.]

What we do not collect

We do not ask for, and do not want, health information about you. Please do not send symptoms, diagnoses, test results, or other medical details — we cannot advise on them and would rather not hold them. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we do not run advertising networks on this site.

Cookies

The site itself sets no tracking or advertising cookies. [If analytics or an embedded newsletter widget sets cookies, list them here with their purpose and lifetime, and add a consent mechanism if you serve visitors in the EU or UK.]

Legal basis

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent to send you the newsletter, and on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website for basic technical data. You can withdraw consent at any time.

How long we keep things

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and is removed from our provider shortly afterwards. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for corrections and record-keeping. Server logs are kept for the period our host retains them. [Confirm the retention period.]

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Residents of California and several other US states have comparable rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, email privacy@footnotehealth.com. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under those laws.

Sharing

We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run the site — our host and our email provider — and only to the extent they need it. We may disclose information where the law requires it. [List providers and their locations once connected.]

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. [Confirm with each provider.]

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change, and will revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting subscribers will be mentioned in the newsletter.
